Teaching International Students to Analyze Textual-Discursive Categories

The purpose of the study is to identify how course that covers components ten-stepwise approach discourse analysis political texts helps international students meanings in Ukraine. used structured observation method collect rather quantitative than qualitative data and observers’ reports on sampled students’ performance in-class out-of-class assignments. It also awareness test, report checklist, assessment checklist yield data. based proved raise overall textual-discursive categories fosters their skills both technical use NVivo 12 software tool. results Discourse Analysis Awareness Test showed was generally good. mean values varied between 0.643 and0.857, which corresponded 65-85 grades ECTS. five most frequent words corpus seven experts were as follows: students, contributed, equally, succeeded, managed. All them evoke a positive idea feeling reveal success meeting goals. quotes yielded from implied sessions engaging, challenging, fruitful terms learning analyze found texts. descriptive statistics drawn presented by topic improved throughout meant progressed analysis.
